Discover Dick’s House of Sport: The Ultimate Sports Retail Experience

Dick’s House of Sport, a new and innovative offshoot of Dick’s Sporting Goods, redefines the sports retail landscape by combining shopping with an immersive sports experience. Launched in 2021, this concept caters to the modern consumer’s desire for engagement and community, offering a unique blend of retail and hands-on sports experiences.

We visited a new location at the Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania that opened in April 2024. This location is interesting in the fact that it resulted in a standard Dick’s Sporting Goods location that was in a newer off-mall shopping plaza closing down and being replaced by an inside the mall location that took over a vacated Sears space.

The expansive stores, often exceeding 100,000 square feet, feature a variety of interactive zones. Key attractions include indoor rock climbing walls, putting greens, batting cages, and turf fields for soccer and other sports. Customers can find the latest sports gear and apparel from top brands, ensuring a comprehensive shopping experience.

A standout feature is the outdoor field, which hosts local sports leagues, fitness classes, and community events. The stores are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, such as VR experiences and performance analysis tools, allowing customers to fine-tune their skills.
