
The Nintendo store in New York City is the United States retail headquarters for Nintendo. The store traces its origins to its 2001 opening in 10 Rockefeller Plaza in the Rockefeller Center in the Times Square area of Manhattan New York City as the Pokémon Center. In January 2005, the store closed to remodel and reopened as the Nintendo World. The store underwent renovations in both 2010 and 2016. After the 2016 renovation, it shortened its name to Nintendo NY. The only other official Nintendo store than the NYC location in the world is in Tokyo, and also an employee only store at its US company headquarters in Redmond Washington. So, if you’re ever in New York City, this is a really great opportunity to check it out.
